We awoke to morning fog and didn't weigh anchor until nearly 8:00 AM.  Today we encountered tugboat and barge traffic on the Tennessee River.  This is a beautiful area of our country.  We passed many beautiful homes and cottages and several RV campgrounds.

One of our friends told us the buildings in the middle of the Tennessee River that I posted yesterday that we could not identify are grain storage buildings that were flooded when the TVA built the lock and dam.   Thanks for that info, Mike.

We're anchored at Swallow Bluff Island in Bath Springs, TN.  We arrived mid-afternoon and we all took naps.  I made stuffed baked potatoes for lunch -- maybe the tryptophan in the potatoes made us sleepy?  It's starting to get dark earlier now  -- maybe it just seems so, as we have been on central time since Chicago.

I'm beyond halfway in "Unbroken" -- what an amazing story.   If you've not read it, it's a true story about Louis Zamperini, a USA Olympian in the thirties who was drafted into WWII and was captured by the Japanese.  I think it is an important story to be told.

On the rivers, there are rules for passing tugs and tows this diagram is very helpful -- they will tell the pleasure boater how to pass:  either "on the one" or "on the two"

We saw several pairs of eagles today and one nest

This is an older home that I really like
