We weighed anchor and departed Possum Creek, GA at 7:10 AM under dreary gray skies and gusty winds.  About 15 minutes out, we both put on jackets.  After looking at the forecast for the next four days we decided to press on to Beaufort, SC (pronounced Bew-fort on the coast not to be confused with Beaufort, NC which is inland and pronounced Bow-fort).

We traveled 60 miles and had the current with us a good bit of the time.  We arrived in Beaufort, SC  late afternoon under fair skies and calmer seas.  We took the dinghy ashore and walked around the historic town of Beaufort.  It is a lovely little town with friendly people.  We were looking for a store or deli to buy bread and sliced ham or turkey.  After three tries and following their leads which were wrong three for three, a fourth person overheard us and suggested we try the farmers market in the center of town.  Now that's right up my alley!

We bought a loaf of rosemary sour dough bread, a small sweet potato pie, and some fresh zucchini for dinner.   Everything was delicious.  Striper was happy to have a nice walk and we sat on one of the swings that faces the water and rested a bit.   Here are a few photos of today's adventure on the high seas -- and I'm not kidding about that.  It was a tad rocky today.

Beautiful homes along our route today
