Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, 2013

Saturday, May 4, 2013 we left Georgetown Dry Stack Marina, Georgetown, SC once again in chilly rain with gray skies.  We arrived at Osprey Marina, Myrtle Beach, SC late morning.  We had an early lunch and I started laundry at the laundry facilities onsite.  The people who run the marina are very friendly and helpful and the surprised us with a very nice gift bag of goodies, including their homemade hot pepper jelly, crackers and cinnamon buns.

I was still fluffing and folding when John and Edna Henry, our dear friends who live in neighboring Surfside Beach. arrived.  We've not seen them in several years and we spent a most delightful  weekend with them. It was rainy and dreary all day and all night Saturday.  We gave them a tour of Say Good-Bye, then John drove us around the area and showed us a local zoo with bison,a camel, albino deer and young bucks with newly developed antlers.   They took us to their lovely home where I did my last load of laundry and we chatted and caught up on each others' lives.  We had dinner at Ryan's which was very good.

Sunday morning they picked us up for church at Timberlake Baptist after which we went out to breakfast at the Surf Diner on Surfside Beach.  We went back to their house and lo and behold the sun came out after 6 consecutive days of rain and wind.  Then John took us to Broadway at the Beach -- a wonderful park with lovely shops,  amusements, attractions and plenty to do for everyone.  It was so nice to be out in the sunshine.  We then went to Target to pick up a few groceries, then to Cracker Barrel for dinner.  The time flew by too quickly for all of us and we sadly said good-bye till next time.  Thank you, John and Edna, we had a great weekend -- it was such fun to be with  you again!!

Here are a few photos from the weekend:
