We weighed anchor at 7:00 AM and departed Beardrop Harbour heading West -- no longer Northwest.  It was 66 degrees and sunny.  The forecast for the next few days is thunderstorms and strong winds, so we made a reservation at the municipal marina in  Thessalon which will be our last stop on the North Channel.

The North Channel, as we used to say when sailing, was "snotty" and it was blowing 15 kts. when we arrived at Thessalon.  We're tied up safe and snug with some other Loopers we've become acquainted with and have met some new friends, as well. The marina has brand new laundry facilities and I did two loads of wash and we went to the grocery store a few blocks away.  Today is a community celebration complete with a parade and festive music all day.

We then got a phone call from Ralph's dad telling us that his mother had fallen in a store and struck the back of  her head and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. In a subsequent call, Ralph's dad told us Lorraine was being transferred to the Atlantic City Trauma Center because of the head injury and also a fractured vertebra. We would appreciate your prayers on behalf of  Lorraine Yost.

  1. Sad to hear about the injury to Lorraine Yost.

I will ask our Priest this morning to include her in our prayers.

My best wishes to the Yost family.
