It rained intermittently throughout last night and all day today so we stayed in Whitehall, NY.  Today I was able to get some exercise with a yoga DVD and also work on my book.  Ralph spent most of the day planning the next leg of our adventure.  We have only one more lock on the Champlain Canal and then we will cross Lake Champlain with New York on one side and Vermont on the other.

When there was a respite in the rain, we ran to the local laundromat two blocks away and did our laundry.  Of course the skies were clear when we left the boat, but less than a half block away, the rain began again in earnest.  The same thing happened to us an hour later on our return to the boat, but we're glad the laundry is done.  The only one of our crew who enjoyed the raindrops was Striper -- she's definitely a water dog.

Our new friends, Barbara and David Doyle,  also stayed in Whitehall today and sent us some photos Barbara took yesterday -- a view we never see. I've added a few of them below, as well as a photo of tonight's back yard.  Beyond these two bridges is the last lock of the Champlain Canal as we head north, weather permitting.
