Catching up on a few days without internet connectivity. On Sunday, June 17 (Father's Day) we completed our travels through the beautiful Chambly Canal, locking through Locks 8-1 in descending order. Locks 3-1 are hinged like steps and quite unique. Only Lock 9 is mechanical, the other 8 locks are operated manually by cranking open and closed the huge lock doors. We stayed at the city dock at Chambly Basin. We visited Ft. Chambly, a short walk from the dock, but it was closed when we arrived. I believe the Chambly Canal is one of the most beautiful areas we had the pleasure of visiting Attached are a few photos:

Watching boats go through the locks is a spectator sport. We're about to go through Lock 3 which is hinged like steps to Locks 2 and 1 |
