After taking on 140 gallons of fuel at Shelburne Shipyard this morning we crossed Lake Champlain to
Willsboro Bay, NY. This area is very fjord-like with beautiful rock
formations along the coastline. Small anchorages are tucked in along the base and the majestic
Adirondack Mountains are seen in the background.
This afternoon Ralph took Striper to the boat launch area to
play fetch and swim. We're hoping that tired her out a bit. I think it
did -- she's lying beside me snoring away.
We're
anchored in the larger of the anchorages in this bay which is very
popular. There's good holding, lots of room, and sufficient protection
from the wind. The water is so
clear you can see to the bottom near the shoreline. We counted 25
boats anchored here tonight.

The train trestle passes over a small waterfall in a small anchorage, barely visible from the bay. |

Striper and Ralph play swim out and fetch this afternoon. The water is so clear and beautiful...it's also about 60 degrees, but Striper doesn't mind one bit. She's a water dog! |

There are tiny anchorages tucked in along the shoreline and the railway runs midway along the bluffs. |

Striper loves going in the dinghy -- it usually means time to play and have fun -- today it was swimming. |
