Tonight's back yard |
Only 12 miles to travel today -- Ralph dinghied over to untie the line to the tree from the bow and we weighed anchor and were underway by 8:00 AM. As we started out, we had a little ladybug hitchhiker -- lady bugs are good luck!
The Tennessee River was as flat as a pancake today. We're seeing more reds and golds in the trees along the river. Autumn is here.
We arrived at Ditto Landing Marina in Huntsville, AL within two hours and changed into short sleeves and shorts. Ralph asked if they had a courtesy car here, as we need to make a grocery run and Ralph needed some "boat stuff."
Ralph was told they used to provide a courtesy car, but a few years ago, a woman who borrowed it was involved in an accident and ejected from the car...so they don't offer a car anymore. However, they offered us a ride. Nick, one of the employees, took us to the local Wal-Mart and gave us his cell phone number to call when we were ready.
We were able to get all the items on my list and most of the items on Ralph's. Nick brought us back and Ralph trimmed Striper's nails while I put the groceries away. We've got internet connectivity, good cell phone coverage and tv. Everywhere we've been since we began this adventure, we've met kind, courteous people who have been willing to help us. We are so blessed.

The Tennessee River was flat as a pancake today -- the wake looks like jello. I love the reds and golds we're beginning to see in the Autumn foliage |

This sailboat was leaving the marina, then turned around and went back in as we arrived this morning. He is singlehanded sailing. |
