This morning we borrowed the courtesy car and attended the Grand Rivers Baptist Church.  What a friendly congregation and an uplifting message.  The Kentucky accent is rampant here and it's delightful to listen to the people talking.  The pastor mentioned that this week he's going to "Low-vole" and it took me a few minutes to figure out he was going to "Louisville."  After church we did some grocery shopping at the local IGA then had a bite to eat at the Docker's Grille at the marina.  On the back of the t-shirt one waitress was wearing it said "Ya'll ain't from around here, are ya'?"

In the afternoon, while Ralph washed the boat, Striper and I took a walk around Green Turtle Bay Resort which includes a 500-slip marina, both covered and uncovered, the Commonwealth Yacht Club, an upscale restaurant, a dockside grille, privately owned and rental condos, private cottages, a health center, laundromat and showers, but the place is really all about turtles.  There is a small observation deck so Striper and I fed the turtles cheerios -- they really are interesting creatures and there are probably thousands of them living here in the bay as well as in Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake on either side of the town of Grand Rivers.

This evening the weekend long anniversary celebration concluded as we joined some Looper friends for dinner at Sugar & Spice. Sugar & Spice is a bakery and a restaurant that serves only private parties.   Marilyn, the owner and chef, served a delicious dinner to eight of us in a private dining room.  She offered 8 entrees that are ordered in advance.  Ralph ordered the grilled salmon and I ordered veal piccata and other members of our party ordered lamb chops.  We had a delicious spinach salad, sorbet, our entrees and for dessert, chocolate dipped strawberries.

Marilyn and her assistant, Norma Jean, were a lot of fun and it was a delightful evening.  Marilyn's husband drove us to and from the restaurant.  A good time was had by all. Again, such generous portions, I brought half my dinner home.   Thank you, Mr. Wonderful, but tomorrow after we finish my veal piccata for lunch, it's a parsley and water diet for both of us!

I will post additional photos tomorrow.  I have exceeded my photo limit with my blog program and had to purchase more space.  It will take 24 hours to effect that update.

Green Turtle Bay is "all about the turtles..."

This is the health club at GTB where I swam laps and took the aqua zumba class and sat in the sauna.

There are 500 slips here, both covered and uncovered
