We left at 6:30 AM -- actually Captain Wonderful and his trusty dog left -- and I slept till 8:30 which I thoroughly appreciated since I hadn't slept very well the past few nights.  We crossed Pigeon Lake and locked through two locks.  The first one was Bobcaygeon, the very first lock ever constructed on the Trent-Severn in 1833.  The second was Fenelon Falls.

The Fenelon Falls lock wall was very crowded and some smaller boats graciously  moved closer together to allow space for the two boats who locked through ahead of us, as well as us.  It was blowing about 25 kts. when we arrived.  Jay and Debbie Leonard were docked there and helped us get into an end slot where we had to add an extension cord to our power cord, but we have electricity and water.  Jay helped us bring Say Good-Bye up from Beaufort, NC when we took delivery in 2007. It was so nice to see them again.

It was in the low 90s today so we are happy to have the AC on. Fenelon Falls is a pretty little town with nice shops, The Pie Shack which is a very good bakery (we bought cinnamon rolls made from pastry like my mother used to make) and a post office where I was able to mail packages for the grandkids and a few cards.  After our trek about town, we changed into bathing suits and took a dip in the cool water so clear we could see the bottom.

We met the two couples who had been through the locks with us and along with Jay and Debbie we all went out to dinner together.  While in the Dockside Restaurant we were talking about our travels and Barbara and Norm Hewton, who just happened to be dining there too, came over and introduced themselves.  They live in Fenelon Falls and are friends with the prior owners of our boat, the Jeidys.  We were glad we got to meet them.  Norm gave us all some valuable tips about the Trent Canal and Canal Lake which everyone appreciates.
