This post will cover a couple days.  We visited Hogs Back Falls on Canada Day -- it is beautiful and amazing with its picturesque rock formations.  On our way back to the Lock, we passed a regatta at the Rideau Canoe Club -- quite interesting as well.  Striper met up with a little beaver along the way too.  Neither of them moved a muscle...just looked at each other.

Yesterday we left Hogs Back and returned to Ottawa -- it worked out nicely for us because most boats were headed the other way out of the capitol.  We are moored at the city dock on the Rideau Canal only this time we're on the side with electricity which is very nice.  Yesterday we went to the Byward Farmer's Market for produce and of course the patisserie for a baguette and some goodies.

This morning, I walked to the Metro grocery store and Ralph was picked up by  Enterprise to rent a car.  He picked me up with the groceries and dropped me off at the boat, then drove to Upper Brewers to meet Betsy, Jack and Reese.  The timing was perfect -- they arrived about one minute apart!  We are so happy that they're going to be traveling with us for a week or so.  We took a walk to show them the Flight of Eight Locks, then we had dinner at the Rideau Centre.  After dessert, everyone took baths and got ready for bed.  It's been a long day.  Attached are a few pictures:
