Another chilly morning when we weighed anchor at the embayment near the Fulton Lock.  We locked through the Glover Wilkins Lock and the Amory Lock along with our sailboat friends on Carina and Pogo Pelli.

The scenery is more beautiful each day along this route.  The cold snaps through the night and early morning hours are bringing out the glorious reds and golds of the leaves.  Jim and Sharon Angel on Blue Angel radioed us from Blue Bluff near Aberdeen, MS where there is a free municipal dock.  They have been tied up there for a few days so we joined them, and a bit later, Bev and Bruce Freese on Paddy Wagon tied up here too.

After my positive update on Ralph's mom yesterday, I regret to say that Ralph's mom had a setback today.  She was getting out of her wheelchair to get into bed, lost her footing and fell against the chair.  She called us this evening and could barely speak.  She said she had fallen and the nurse came and gave her a pain pill, but she is in excruciating pain.  Ralph called the nurse's station at the rehab center and requested that they call the ambulance to take her to the hospital -- which is located just across the street from the rehab center.

She is now in the hospital and we would appreciate your prayers for her to not have any broken bones.  She did not strike her head when she fell, which is a good thing.  Thank you again for your prayers for her.

  1. It seems so unfair, two steps forward, one step back. Prayers for Ralph’s mom.

Great post and pics. I really liked the shot of the Armory Damn. Gives this only been thru the Great Bridge lock reader a sense of scale. Danger indeed!

Seen about a third of the videos. I’ll get to them all. Is Ralph using a video camera?

    1. Hi Mike: It's been a very rough road for her. Today she was placed in a turtle shell apparatus to keep her spine immobile. Ralph's dad said she is still in a great amount of pain. We are in Roanoke, VA for the night. We should be in NJ late tomorrow afternoon.

I liked the photo of that dam too -- puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

Ralph uses a Samsung CHARGE -- his cell phone, not a video camera.
